At Wild River, we organise guided wildlife tours for people who want to watch animals and birds in their natural habitats. We look for and track European bison around Białowieża and moose in the Biebrza Valley, discover the birds of Mazovia’s rivers and watch wild boar on the outskirts of Warsaw.
We tailor the programme to your interests, experience and available time. You can focus on relaxed wildlife watching, nature photography or learning to recognise animal tracks. Depending on the tour, we travel on foot, by 4×4 or by boat.
Along the Vistula, Bug and Narew, we combine birdwatching with exploring riverside landscapes. Tours are available in Polish and English.

What is a wildlife tour with Wild River like?
We provide a Polish- and English-speaking guide, local knowledge and help with observing animals and birds. During the tour, we also learn about their tracks and habitats. We tailor the destination, route and pace to your interests and the conditions on the ground.
How long does a wildlife tour last?
A tour usually lasts around 8 hours, but the duration is flexible. We can arrange a shorter or longer programme depending on the destination, travel time and your needs.
Where do we meet, and can you arrange transport?
We normally meet at an agreed location in the area where we will look for animals or watch birds. Optional transport, including from Warsaw, can be provided. We agree on the meeting point, travel arrangements and scope of the service before booking.
How many guests can travel in the car?
Our car accommodates up to 4 guests plus the guide. For more comfortable wildlife watching, we recommend 3 guests, so everyone can sit by a window. We agree on group size and transport to suit the chosen tour.
Can you visit the bison from Warsaw in one day?
Yes. We can organise a day trip from Warsaw to Białowieża and its surroundings, approximately 250 km from Warsaw, to look for bison and return in the evening. This is particularly suitable for visitors staying in Warsaw briefly who want to experience the wildlife of Białowieża Forest. Departure, observation and return times are arranged individually. Do I need wildlife watching or photography experience?
We welcome beginners as well as keen birdwatchers and photographers. It is also a wonderful experience for children, who can see animals they have previously known only from books, television or the internet.
How do we observe wild animals?
We keep a respectful distance, avoid disturbing animals and use places open to visitors. The presence of birds and mammals depends on the season, conditions and their activity. Sightings of a particular species cannot be guaranteed.
How much does a tour cost, and how do I book?
We prepare each programme and quote individually, depending on your needs and the scope of the trip. In your message, include your preferred date, group size, destination or animals of interest, and whether you need transport. We will then suggest a programme and agree on the details.
