The weekend is behind us! As always, it was difficult to reconcile all the ideas, goals, availability of guides and the needs of our clients. However, we do what we can!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, we went on a several-hour trip to observe various species of birds living in the forests and fields by the Vistula river. Much of our attention has been devoted to several species of woodpeckers. In the forest area, we observed numerous great spotted woodpeckers, as well as lesser spotted woodpecker and black woodpeckers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In more exposed terrain, we saw a few green woodpeckers. They feasted on ants while sitting in the grass and whistling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you know that the green woodpecker is the second largest species of woodpecker living in our country? It grows up to 35 cm. Unlike most of his cousins, he rarely drums on a tree, but is much easier to find on the ground in meadows and fields (usually near trees and bushes around)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green woodpeckers are relatively rare, but it is even more difficult to see it, because it matches the color of the grass and plants. <\/p>\n\n\n
